About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and execution-oriented Senior Finance Manager with deep experience in U.S.-based B2B SaaS finance operations. This role will own critical financial processes across subscription accounting, invoicing, renewals, collections, multi-state U.S. sales tax compliance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), investor reporting, fundraising support, and M&A activities.

The ideal candidate has experience working in high-growth SaaS environments, understands ARR/MRR metrics, subscription-based revenue recognition, and can partner closely with executive leadership on strategic financial initiatives.

Location: Hyderabad (U.S. business hours overlap preferred)

Key Responsibilities

SaaS Finance Operations & Accounting

  • Manage end-to-end finance operations for a U.S.-based B2B SaaS business, including:
    • Customer invoicing and billing
    • Subscription accounting and renewals
    • Revenue recognition (ASC 606 preferred)
    • Accounts receivable, collections, and cash flow management
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial records, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms, auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams.

U.S. Multi-State Sales Tax Compliance

  • Manage sales tax compliance across multiple U.S. states, including:
    • Sales tax nexus evaluation
    • SaaS taxability by state
    • Registration and compliance requirements
    • Tax calculations, filings, reconciliations, and remittances
  • Work with external tax advisors and platforms (e.g., Avalara, TaxJar, Stripe Tax, or equivalent).
  • Ensure compliance with changing U.S. federal and state tax regulations impacting SaaS businesses.

Subscription Metrics & Revenue Management

  • Track and analyze key SaaS KPIs:
    • ARR / MRR
    • Churn & retention
    • Deferred revenue
    • CAC, LTV, gross margins
  • Renewal forecasting and revenue predictability.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to improve collections and renewal efficiency.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Develop and maintain financial models, budgets, forecasts, and scenario planning.
  • Build board-level and executive financial dashboards.
  • Drive operating plans, cost optimization, and profitability analysis.
  • Support strategic decision-making through financial insights and data-driven recommendations.

Investor Reporting & Fundraising Support

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly investor updates and board reporting packages.
  • Support CEO/CFO in fundraising activities, including:
    • Data room preparation
    • Investor financial diligence
    • Financial projections and business modeling
    • SaaS metrics storytelling for investors
  • Create materials for venture capital, private equity, and strategic investors.

M&A and Strategic Finance

  • Support M&A initiatives, including:
    • Financial due diligence
    • Valuation support
    • Synergy analysis
    • Integration planning
  • Work with leadership and advisors on acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and growth opportunities.

Process & Systems Optimization

  • Improve financial systems, controls, automation, and reporting processes.
  • Experience with SaaS finance tools such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Chargebee, Stripe, Salesforce, HubSpot, SaaSOptics, Zuora, Avalara, or similar is preferred.
  • Establish scalable financial operations for a high-growth environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of finance/accounting experience, with strong experience in U.S.-based B2B SaaS companies.
  • Proven expertise in:
    • SaaS accounting and subscription billing
    • Invoicing, renewals, and collections
    • U.S. multi-state sales tax compliance
    • Revenue recognition and deferred revenue
    • Financial modeling and forecasting
    • Investor/board reporting
    • Fundraising and M&A support
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, NRR, CAC, LTV).
  • Experience supporting venture-backed, PE-backed, or high-growth software companies preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets financial modeling and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CA, CMA, MBA Finance, or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Prior experience working with U.S.-based enterprise software or SaaS companies.
  • Experience working directly with founders, CEOs, investors, or executive teams.
  • Exposure to cross-border finance operations (India–U.S.) is a plus.
